About
Sunshine City is a commercial and entertainment building complex that features a variety of facilities including an office building, the Sunshine City Prince Hotel, Sunshine Aquarium, Sunshine 60 Observatory, theater, Namja Town, The Ancient Orient Museum, J-World Tokyo and a large shopping center with about 200 shops that cater mainly to young fashion and restaurants. It is located in East Ikebukuro (one of the Major cities in Tokyo) just a short walk from Ikebukuro Station. Sunshine City opened in 1978 so it is one of the "older" yet trendy spots in tokyo. Although Sunshine city is an older mall, it still houses lots of entertainment and shopping. The center square open space is always hosting some sort of event from fashion shows to Godzilla promotions.
The Sunshine 60 building (the tall building above the mall) has an observatory (observation deck) at the top.
