Sumida Hokusai Museum Building
About
The Sumida Hokusai Museum is in the city Ryogoku which is famous for Sumo. Ryogoku is very close to Tokyo Station and the Sumida Hokusai Museum's main focus is art from famous artists of the Manga and Anime genre. Unfortunately the Sumida Hokusai Museum is extremely strict about photography within the building so there are few images to see on this page. However, the Sumida Hokusai Museum is definitely worth a visit, especially if you are into Japanese Anime. There is TONS of content on display from very famous artists and authors. The building has 3 floors with a couple permanent displays and usually a Special Display on one of the floors (which costs more money). There is plenty of seating to take a break as you wander around although it felt a bit stuffy and hot inside when we visited. If you visit the Edo Tokyo Museum in the morning and then have lunch and still have some energy, visiting the Sumida Hokusai Museum after lunch might be a good plan. Please visit the official website (see "Resources" on this page) for Special Exhibit schedules and important information.
