About
The Edo-Tokyo Museum (in Japanese; Tokyo Hakubutsukan 江戸東京博物館) was established in 1993 as a museum that celebrates the "Edo Era" of Tokyo (Tokyo was know as "Edo" until 1869). There are a few "main" features in the museum such as a life size replica of Nihonbashi (a famous bridge in the city of Nihonbashi), the Nakamuraza theater and many scale models that demonstrate how life was during the Edo times.
There are voluntary guides in the museum that speak English between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. The Edo-Tokyo Museum is a very interesting attraction and close to Tokyo Station making it a very nice place to visit if your a tourist visiting Japan or live in Japan. Take your camera too because there are tons of photo opportunities.
