Opened in 1984 The National Bunraku Theater (in Japanese; Kokuritsu Bunraku Gekijyou 国立文楽劇場) is one of the many traditional Japanese theaters that offers different Japanese art forms. It is the 4th "National Theater" in Japan and the "Headquarters" for Bunraku (a type of puppet theater). The National Bunraku Theater is located in Chuo-Ku Osaka. Osaka has been known as the capital of Bunraku which is a traditional Japanese theater. This tradition has been around since the Edo period. Most of the shows are held in three week runs in January, April, June, July/August and November. Ticket prices depend on the performance and can run from 1000 yen up to 10,000 yen.
