The Umeda Sky Building (in Japanese; Umeda Sukai Biru 梅田スカイビル) is or the Shin Umeda City was completed in 1993 and is one of Osaka's most recognizable buildings. It is a pair of skyscrapers 40 stories high that are connected in midair at the top, an unusual architectural form that is very unique worldwide. There are safety measures equipped in the building such as the earthquake-proofing and disaster protection, and have a floating garden at the top. The Umeda Sky Building is 173 meters high and an innovative form whereby the two skyscrapers are connected at their top floors and a huge atrium that extends about 150 meters connecting the sky and the ground. The building has a public accessible rooftop observatory, "The Floating Garden Observatory" that you may visit.
