Umeda is the major "Area" in "North Osaka" (the counterpart to Nanba) and is a very popular district in Osaka (in Japanese; Umeda 梅田). Umeda has many malls, hotels, eateries, drinking establishments and entertainment centers. It is Osaka's busiest transportation hub and a bustling business district. Intriguingly, the Umeda district went through a major renovation over the years. It used to be Japan's darkest and most cramped places but transformed into a pleasant district of the country.
