About
The Osaka Museum of History (in Japanese; Osaka Rekishi Bijyutsukan 大阪歴史博物館) was opened on November 3 in 2001. This museum starts with the city's history, beginning in ancient times when Osaka served as Japan's first capital and site of the Naniwa Palace and ending with exhibits on the city's bustling shopping arcades of the early Showa Period. It has many large model exhibits. The actual museum is on the upper floors of the building while shops and restaurants are on the lower floors. Since the museum is directly across from Osaka Castle, from the upper floors you have an excellent view of Osaka Castle.
