About

Minakuchi Castle, or more of a fortified "home", was built as a sucure layover point on the way from Tokyo to Kyoto for the Shogun. Kato Akitomo took control of the castle in 1682 and the Kato family ruled the area until the Meiji Restoration when the castle was dismantled.
