The Liquid Room started, more or less, as a grungy night club in the seedy Kabukicho area in Shinjuku, with live gigs being held once in a while. After moving to the more upmarket Ebisu, the club nights were lessened to put more emphasis on live events. These events started attracting popular renown among various quarters for the range of well known local and foreign talents being featured.
The move to Ebisu also brought a renovation of its physical layout into a complex that could serve the multiple functions of live show venue, café lounge and gallery. The main dance floor showcases one of the leading quality sound systems in the country, and is large enough fit around 900 guests during live shows. On the second floor is the Liquid Loft and the KATA gallery that can be reserved for private occasions.
To sum it up, Liquid Room envisions itself at the cutting edge of the Tokyo live scene, innovative enough to not be bound to any genre but instead be a trendsetter in musical event promotion.
