Do you like beer? Japanese beer is excellent and the Kirin Brewery Company, is one of Japan's leading beer breweries. The Kirin Beer Village is a part of Kirin's Yokohama breweries that is open to the public because it was founded in Yokohama. The Beer Village offers free brewery tours, which offer a glimpse into the brewing facilities and some beer tasting.

Brewery tours last about an hour and lead along a gallery with displays regarding the beer's history as well as the company's fermentation tank process and the canning and bottling areas. Most tours are done in Japanese while tourists may also ask for an English tour guide. The last twenty minutes of the tour consist of a free tasting, where visitors are given a couple of beers and some snacks. No... they don't have any cots out back to take a nap after your "tasting" so be sure to judge your own limit. Or, like the Japanese, you can just put your head back against the window on the train ride home and sleep like a baby while everyone else watches your jaw drop and mouth wide open.
