About
Joypolis (in Japanese; ジョイポリス, Joiporisu) is an indoor amusement park and chain that opened in July, 1994; The first one opening in Yokohama, Japan. The Joypolis indoor theme parks feature amusement rides and arcade games based on Sega intellectual properties. Nine Joypolis parks have opened but as of 2016 only five parks remain operational in Tokyo > Odaiba Japan, Osaka > Umeda Japan, Okayama Japan and two in China (Qingdao and Shanghai).
The Tokyo Joypolis is inside a shopping center call "DECKS" in the trendy city area of Odaiba which is popular with young adults and families. Joypolis definitely has a hipster/futuristic/rock-n-roll vibe to it and is quite exciting as soon as you walk in. Once you are in it is dimly-lit, loud and has an energetic feel. Most people think that since it is indoors it "won't have much" but most people leave thinking, "wow, I had a great time!" There are video games, virtual simulators, 3D attractions and actual rides along with the standard food stalls and trinket shops.
