About
Hougyokudou is well known for it's "Senbei" Rice Crackers. Their "logo" is the face of a fox and their "special" Rice Cracker is called the Inari Senbei. The fox is a symbol of Fushimi Inari Shrine which is said to be an errand of the god of Inari. You can find a few statues of fox at the shrine. Senbei in Japan are kind of like Potato Chips in the Western world as Japanese love to snack on them at all times. Hougyokudou has a Senbei with a little bit of white miso (lightly sweet) pasted outside with a savory smell of the roasted sesames on top of it. You can watch the artisans roasting the Senbei in front of you too.
