Hotel Seikoen is a very "Japanese Style" hotel/ryokan. Expect tatami rooms and to sleep on futons on the floor (the futons are very soft and comfortable). Meals are Japanese style (Kaiseki meals) with lots of "fish" type dishes and a variety of small dishes with foods many westerners have never tasted. Even the breakfast is Japanese style so don't expect eggs and bacon. The staff is flawless in their service and they see to your every need. Hotel Seikoen also has indoor and outdoor hot springs baths separated for men and women. One of the best things about Hotel Seikoen is that it is so close to many of the attractions in Nikko, within walking distance to various temples/shrines.

The hotel does not offer a shuttle so you can either ride a taxi (500 yen) or take a local bus from the Nikko Station Shinkyo bus stop and ride 5 min. and the walk 8 min.
