This is a super-inexpensive hotel you can stay at in Tokyo but be prepared, it is extremely "no-frills" and you have to bring your own towel and toothbrush. You do get a TV and floors along with a shared kitchen and coin laundry between 7am and 10pm. Bathrooms are of course shared too. Located in Taito ward, Hoteiya is a good place to stay for visitors wanting to see Tokyo's Shitamachi (downtown) areas. There is no curfew at Hoteiya but guests partying until late into the night will be frowned upon. While the surroundings are not luxurious, this is a popular hotel for people traveling on a shoestring. Also note that although they can speak a little English here, if you can't speak Japanese be prepared to just go along for the ride.
