About
The Hara Museum of Contemporary Art is a private contemporary art museum within walking distance of Shinagawa Station in Tokyo. The exhibitions change every once in a while so if you visit once in a while you'll have a chance to see something new. Exhibitions that have been displayed come from a wide range of artists from around the world such as Andy Warhol, Karel Appel, Alexander Calder, Mark Rothko, Cindy Sherman, Yayoi Kusama, Aiko Miyawaki, Yasumasa Morimura, Daisuke Nakayama and many more. There is also a sculpture garden, a shop and the Cafe d'Art that overlooks the museum courtyard. The Hara Museum has an excellent reputation for showing great works of art and visitors always express high praise. Remember that what you will be able to see depends on what exhibition is actually taking place so please visit the Official Website to see if the current display interests you. There is a small amount of "Permanent Display" items that may or may not be on display but this is not the core direction of the museum, they like to mix it up and keep members coming back. If your staying in Shinagawa and have an extra hour or two, making a quick visit to the Hara Museum might be a fun little excursion for you.
