About
The Fujiko F. Fujio Museum also known as the Doraemon Museum, is a museum based on the works of Fujiko F. Fujio who is the creator of the Anime character Doraemon. Doraemon is a series about a robotic cat from the 22nd century who travels back in time to befriend a group of kids and is very popular in Japan. Note that you MUST purchase tickets and get an advanced reservation before visiting the museum. Also note that in many areas inside of the museum photography is NOT allowed. On the first floor is a large gift shop well stocked with character goods from Doraemon and Fujiko's other series. On the second floor there is a small play ground, photo area and mini theater. On the third floor, there is a restaurant and a small gift shop. Outside the third floor, there are giant figures of Doraemon and friends.
The museum is aimed at children but adults who also grew up watching Doraemon will also have fun. The Fujiko F. Fujio Museum is not huge but has a pretty extensive collection of Fujiko F. Fujio's work, including original artwork from Doraemon, 21-emon, Kaibutsukun, and several of Fujiko's other series. There is also an English audio guide which is included in the admission free and has a lot of commentary on Fujiko's life and the various artwork on display. Plan on spending about two hours inside the museum, a little bit longer if your a fan.
