The Takayama Festival or Takayama Matsuri is one of the most beautiful festivals in Japan. There are beautiful floats and costumes along with dance and music. More than a thousand participants parade down the street pushing and pulling the floats while singing and dancing. The floats are created with all sorts of decorations and styles. Once it gets evening the floats turn on paper lanterns which make them even more beautiful. Not only is the festival a sight to see but Takayama itself is amazing.
