One of Japan's largest and most famous festivals, even throughout the world, the Sapporo Snow Festival (in Japanese "Sapporo Yuki Matsuri" さっぽろ雪まつり ) is an unforgettable event! About two million people come to Sapporo from all over Japan and even the world to see the large number of amazing snow and ice sculptures in Odori Park, the grounds at Community Dome Tsudome, and along the main street in Susukino. International Square (Nishi 11 chome, in Odori) is the he stage for the International Snow Statue Contest and every year over ten teams compete for the best snow sculpture. The sculptures are there at anytime and it is a park so you can drop by whenever you like.
