Aomori City (at the very top of Honshu the main Island) holds the famous "Nebuta Festival" every year. Handmade floats made out of Bamboo and wooden frames are covered with paper and painted with historic figures and samurai warriors, birds and beasts. These floats are illuminated from inside which make up the Aomori Nebuta parade. The festival is one of the biggest and most well known festivals in Japan attracting tourists from all over Japan and the world.
