Arakawa Yuen near Ikebukuro in Tokyo Japan
About
Arakawa Yuen is a small amusement park and petting zoo targeting children and families. Opened in 1922, the park is run by the local city and an adult can enter for 200 yen (children are 100 yen or free on weekdays). There are other ticket pricing structures like an "all-you-can-ride" free pass so if your interested in that, check the Official Pricing Guide.
The park was slightly remodeled in the early 90's and has a very quaint and retro feel about it. If you have young children or... maybe even for just a fun date, Arakawa Yuen is an easy, relaxing and cheap place to spend some time and have some fun! There is a little Ferris Wheel (sometimes can see Mt. Fuji from the top), carousel, a couple very tame roller coasters, a "Tram Museum" and a petting zoo with cows, sheep and ponies. The park is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and usually closed on Tuesdays but check the Official Calendar just in case.
