Best things about Cherry Blossom Season in Japan
Activity > Not area specific > Culture
Cherry Blossom Season ("Hana Mi" in Japanese) is one of Japan's well known and very popular seasons. Its a time when "life" starts to bloom and that same "life" the trees are producing somehow manages to fill the Japanese spirit too. Everyone is in good spirits! Then, when the trees start to bloom, its basically MAJOR party time!
This is my list of some of my favorite things during Cherry Blossom Season:
General Partying
General Partying
Yeah, I'll admit it... having a few sips of the lightning and singing Karaoke under the trees is a blast! My friend Dave bought a pretty expensive Karaoke machine just for the occasion and he brings it out every year. Yep, its big enough to blast the next groups machine out of the water! I've actually become quite a pretty good singer from living in Japan so long. That's what you do here, go to Karaoke! The Karaoke joints are incredible, but, that's another story. So, after practicing my singing at the Karaoke box all year, I'm ready to belt out a song and make everyone listen form hundreds of meters in diameter!
Meeting up with friends
Meeting up with friends
Generally I'll meet a 1 friend every-once-in-a-while here for lunch, there for dinner. But during Cherry Blossom Season ALL my friends get together under the trees! Jabbering left, jabbering right... what a blast!

Beautiful trees
Yep, this is what it is all about. Sometimes I think some people even forget the trees are there! But, you really should just "stop"... and take a look at how beautiful they are. Last year I think I took a thousand pictures... but, to tell the truth, I've decided its better NOT to take pictures because that's the significance of the whole thing! They "bloom & live" and are rejoiced... they die... and forgotten.
