This annual ceremony features firefighting, first-aid demonstrations and rescue demonstrations performed by the Tokyo Fire Department （ Tokyo Shou Bou Chou Dezome Shiki, 東京消防庁出初式 ）. There are also fantastic performances showing traditional kiyari songs and ladder stunts performed by the Edo Firemanship Preservation Association. Visitors can ride fire engines and meet the men! The"Parade of Firemen", Dezome-shiki ( Dezome Shiki, 出初式 ) in Japanese, event has long been held to raise awareness of fire and disaster prevention in the year ahead.
The festival is generally held at Tokyo Big Sight, Higashi Parking Lot. Take the Yurikamome Line from Shimbashi Station to Kokusai-Tenjiro Seimon Station. Tokyo Big Sight is about a 3 minute walk from the station.
